Whole Wheat Turkish Flatbread


Bazlama is a whole wheat Turkish flatbread that is super soft and delightfully comforting. This recipe is easy to make, does not require baking and is a sure hit. Serve it warm with accompaniments like stews, Daal ( lentils ) or curry. You can also just lightly butter or olive oil and enjoy it just like that.





Yield: 15 pieces.
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes


Ingredients
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour.
  • 1/2 cup thick yoghut
  • 3/4 cup water ( adjust accordingly to make a soft chapati like douhg )
  • 1 tbsp instant yeast ( if using dry yeast, activate it )
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Garlic butter, chilli flakes and coriander for garnish.

Procedure

1. In a mixing bowl add all the dry ingredients. ( Including the yeast )
2. Add yoghurt and water and make a chapati like dough.

3. Cover and let the dough rest for 1 1/2 hr in a warm environment.

4. After the dough rises, divide it into equal parts and roll thick rotis

5. Cook on regular Tava pan on medium heat.

6. Garnish with garlic butter, chilli flakes and coriander.
