Friday nights are Pizza nights for us, and we love our made-from-scratch pizzas. For me, a great sauce is key to perfect pizza!! This one hits the spot ☺️😋
Sharing this tomato sauce recipe which is super simple and very flavorful. Spread it over homemade pizza or use it as a dip.

The sauce is naturally gluten-free, dairy free and vegan!! It has a strong tomato flavor and is seasoned with fresh garlic and dried italian herbs.

It is made from scratch with very basic ingredients, and the results would be the best pizza sauce ever. Free from any preservatives and does not need a can opener 😜

Take your pizza to a gourmet level with this homemade pizza sauce recipe.

1. If in a rush, just use canned tomatoes along with tomato paste. Blend, add spices and cook for 5 min.

2. If you prefer a very smooth sauce, strain the puree before cooking.

3. Italian seasoning gives the flavour to the sauce, so do not skip adding it.

4. Some basil leaves, onion powder and olive oil can also be added.

5. Adjust the seasoning quantities per taste

  • 8-9 ripe tomatoes

  • 3-4 garlic cloves

  • 1 tsp chilli flakes(optional)

  • Salt as per taste

  • 1-2 tsp sugar(less or more per taste)

  • 1 tsp vinegar (optional)

  • 1 - 2 tbsp Italian seasoning ( This is a blend of dried herbs like Oregano, Basil, Thyme, Sage and Rosemary )

1. Chop the tomatoes. Place in a blender along with garlic cloves and blend into a smooth puree.

2. Pour the puree in a wide pan. Add chilli flakes, Italian seasoning, salt, sugar and a tsp of vinegar.

Mix everything.

3. Cook the sauce on medium high till its nice and thick, stirring occasionally.

It took me 20-25 min to thicken and cook the sauce completely.
