You will be surprised how easy it is to make a bread with such white soft interior and a golden crust! You will never go back to buying bread from the store.

Lets get started!

Notes

1. This bread is very easy to make, you just have to be patient and let it rise properly.

2. You can make the dough before going to bed, let it rise overnight for the first proofing and follow the remaining procedure to make fresh bread in the morning.

3. Letting it proof 3 times gives the bread a finer texture.

3. You can use half milk half water as the liquid.

4. Quantity of sugar can be increased for a sweeter taste ( do not reduce the sugar quantity)

5. Letting it rise for longer time is must...

6. You can add pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds etc

7.  One of the most important steps in bread making is to have a good quality yeast and following the directions for properly blooming it.

Ingredients

1 us cup = 250 ml

  • 3 cups bread flour ( if you do not have bread flour take all purpose flour / Maida )

  • 1 tsp  rapid rise instant yeast ( I have used Fleischmann's)

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp sugar ( you can add more but do not reduce )

  • 3/4 cup warm whole milk + 3/4 cup warm water mixed together

  • 2 tbsp oil / room temperature butter

Procedure

1. In a bowl take flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. Mix everything nicely

2. In another bowl take warm milk + warm water

3. Gradually add milk water mixture into the flour mix. Make a dough using spatula. The dough should be sticky and slightly loose as below.

Do not add all the liquid at once ( I used about 1 and 1/4 cup )

4. Now add oil/ butter make the dough into a ball

5. Let it rise in a warm place for about 5 hours or over even longer till it triples in size.  I used the Instant pot in Normal Yogurt mode.
( We have used very little yeast, so you have to let it rise for longer)

6. After 5 hours / the first rise, fold in the dough couple of times using a spatula. Cover and let rise again for 40 min to an hour or till it doubles.

7. Finally, take the dough on a dusted surface. Make the shape according to the pan ( I am using Pullman loaf pan 9 x 5 x 5 inches) , place the dough in the baking pan and let it rise again till it reaches the top!! About 40 min.

After placing dough in the pan, press down gently to remove air bubbles and let it rise.

8. After the dough has risen, bake in a preheated oven at 375 F / 190 C for 35 min or till it is done.

9. After baking, take it out of the pan, and let it cool completely before slicing.

Thank you so much! If you want to close the lid, do it before placing it in the oven!!
Once it's in the oven don't do anything to it untill its done.
